    Description

RARE WW-1 HONORABLE DISCHARGE / VICTORY LAPEL PIN SILVER WOUNDED IN ACTION (7-1-2001 GOV RESTRIKE GI ISSUED) This a non-issued pin in Gov. plastic packaged. It is a 5 pointed  star 5/8 inch in diameter superimposed on a laurel wreath. In the center of the star are the letters U.S. in raised letters.
This Victory Lapel Button was the first "Honorable Service" provided to veterans, and it was very popular. There were 2 types of Victory Buttons-one in silver for those that were wounded in action, and another in bronze for all others. Some were given at the time of discharge ; otherwise a veteran could take his discharge papers to the nearest Army or Navy Recruiting Office.
